Research Comparison
KLOW Stack vs KPV
A side-by-side research comparison of KLOW Stack and KPV drawn from DRPSHP' peptide database records.
KLOW Stack
KLOW is a single preparation made of four separately studied peptides: the three in GLOW (GHK-Cu, TB-500 and BPC-157) with KPV added. KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. The other three are, in turn, a copper-bound tripeptide first isolated from human plasma, the synthetic seven-residue thymosin beta-4 fragment Ac-LKKTETQ, and a 15-residue synthetic peptide derived from a sequence in a gastric juice protein. Cell culture and animal models make up nearly all of the work on each component. No published study has put the four together, and information about their chemical stability in a mixture is lacking, so the blend has no literature of its own.
KPV
KPV is the three-residue peptide lysine-proline-valine, identical to the final three residues of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It does not contain the His-Phe-Arg-Trp core through which alpha-MSH activates melanocortin receptors, so its pharmacology should not be assumed to match the hormone's. Attention to it followed reports that C-terminal fragments of alpha-MSH change inflammatory signalling in cell and animal models. The studies are mostly in cultured epithelial and immune cells and in mouse models of chemically induced colitis. The body of work is small, and human data are scarce.
Reading a comparison
A comparison places two records side by side; it does not merge them. Each description above is drawn from that compound's own record, and the two were not necessarily characterised by the same methods, at the same time, or to the same level of detail. Before comparing any attribute, it is worth establishing that both records describe the substance you think they describe — names are not identifiers, and two entries sharing a name can differ in salt form, stereochemistry or the convention used to state a mass. Where a figure carries no method beside it, the comparison is between two reported numbers rather than between two measurements.
