GLOW Stack
Evidence profile: Component evidence only — this formulation has not itself been studied
GLOW is a single preparation containing three separately studied peptides: GHK-Cu, TB-500 and BPC-157. GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of glycyl-histidyl-lysine, a tripeptide originally isolated from human plasma. TB-500 is the seven-residue synthetic fragment Ac-LKKTETQ, copied from the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4. BPC-157 is a 15-residue synthetic peptide derived from a protein described in gastric juice. Each has its own literature, largely in cell culture and animals. No published study has tested the three together, and there is nothing on how stable they are, or how they behave, when mixed.
Mechanism of Action
The blend has no mechanism of its own, so the only honest account is of the three parts, each on its own evidence. GHK holds copper(II) tightly, and fibroblast cultures have been used to look at collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in response to the complex. Thymosin beta-4 binds monomeric actin and governs how much is available for filament building; TB-500 reproduces LKKTETQ, the short sequence at the centre of that binding region, though how far the fragment shares the binding is not well established. How BPC-157 works is unsettled, with rodent and cell studies looking at nitric oxide and VEGF receptor pathways. Whether the three influence each other has not been investigated.
